I write for the heart. And so these articles are meant to be read from the heart.
Reading from the heart is different from how most of us have been trained. It’s a slow way of reading––where deep from our inner being we savor the words, feel the imagery, and picture how our lives might be when lived in such a way.
Rather than seeking information, the heart pursues experiences. The kind of writing I do here, when it’s read from the heart, fosters experiences with the Holy Spirit. And that changes us from the inside.
Honestly, if I disconnect from my heart and go out into my head, and then try to read what I’ve written, I find no pleasure or value in the prose. It’s not meant to be the kind of writing that satisfies the mind.
But when I come back after settling again into my heart, with my mind in its proper place as a servant of my heart, I find my words inviting and comforting. I slowly read, and I fall in love with Jesus all over again.
For that, I write. May you read from your heart and fall deeper in love with Jesus too.
